One million and counting at Walter Nash Centre

One Millionth Visitor Cleveland Tekau, 9, from Taita Central School, receives a signed Wellington Saints basketball and a $100 Warehouse gift voucher from council community hub manager Mike Mercer.

The Walter Nash Stadium was built in 1975, it was renamed the Walter Nash Centre in October 2015 as part of a remarkable upgrade project to become a world class facility the Hutt community could be proud of.

The $12 million Walter Nash Centre features five multi-purpose courts, a new library, fitness centre, meeting spaces and a café. Outside there are 11 courts and space for up to 205 additional car parks for large events. The new Centre combines the former stadium, community library, hall and netball courts.
