Netball Hutt Valley support

On Saturday 23 May 2015, Netball Hutt Valley generously contributed $100,000 to the Taita Sport & Community Centre.

The cheque was jointly presented to the Community Facilities Trust by Lorraine Duffy, Life Member of Netball Hutt Valley and Addyson Guy, from Maungaraki School, the youngest member registered in Netball Hutt Valley.

"We have been waiting a long time for updated indoor court facilities in the Hutt Valley and are very excited about having a modern, up to date indoor facility to complement our current outside courts," says Genny Jarvis, President of Netball Hutt Valley.

Hutt Valley Netball sees the new Taita Sport & Community Centre as a valuable asset to the development of netball in the Hutt Valley.  The new state of the art facility will mean that from 2016, all senior teams will be able to play indoors.

"It is a very exciting time for netball in our area," says Mrs Jarvis.  "2015 has seen yet another increase in teams at both school and club level, we have also been rolling out a new junior programme which will see participation numbers increase further."

Netball Hutt Valley's contribution to this project cements the ongoing relationship with the Community Facilities Trust, and shows its ongoing commitment to the development of the local community, for both young and old.

"The Community Facilities Trust is very grateful for Hutt Valley Netball's contribution to the Taita Sport & Community Centre," says Alister Skene, CFT Chairman.  "It shows their commitment and enthusiasm for the new Centre."
