G & S Roofing has sponsored a softball ballpark at Fraser Park and a changing room in the new sports centre for the next five years.
The Lower Hutt based roofing contractors have installed a Coloursteel Endura roof at the new Ricoh Sports Centre. General Manager Jon Lucas, says the project was not without its challenges.
"The roofing system we installed, which has a 30 year lifespan, was made up of seven layers with insulation built into the roof. The open field location and the extra layers required, meant that almost any wind stopped work. A normal three layer roof system of this size would have been done in a couple of weeks, but with the challenges and weather delays, this roof took several months to complete," says Mr Lucas.
G & S Roofing has a history of sponsoring local community groups, with many of the team involved in local sports. The company, which was founded in 2007, operates throughout greater Wellington and the Wairarapa. Its 20-strong team work on a range of commercial and residential projects including re-roofing, installing waterproof membranes, wall cladding, deck waterproofing, asbestos removal, and installing new roofs.
