Ricoh Sports Centre at Fraser Park

We're working with Fraser Park Sportsville and Hutt City Council on a new and exciting development to revitalise Fraser Park.

“This is an important project for the Hutt Valley and will be a long term strategic asset for Lower Hutt, the wider region and country.”

- Ray Wallace, Mayor, Hutt City Council

The project has entered the construction phase with Armstrong Downes Ltd moving onto the park, establishing the construction site and beginning ground works. The ceremonial turning of the first sod and Maori blessing were held at the end of June 2017.

Meanwhile our fundraising campaign is continuing to gather momentum, and we have welcomed a number of significant sponsors on board including Titan Cranes, Kadima Furniture and Cuttriss Engineering, along with a number of smaller pledge commitments from companies, clubs and families.

It is great to have the support of locally based businesses for such an iconic local facility.

  • Stage one of development was completed in 2015 which included three new softball diamonds, rugby/football turf, lighting and landscaping
  • Stage two construction is underway of a multi-sport facility that will include: six squash courts, indoor training space, admin offices and meeting facilities, changing rooms, a café and viewing decks.  The Centre is due for completion by the end of 2018.
